Nowadays it is very difficult for scientists, specialists, experts to fight their way to the information world. However one may say that sociologists and politologists of the first in the country non-state scientific institution, namely the Russian Independent Institute of Social and National Problems (RIISNP), have been lucky. The very first meeting at the site of the IPC with the journalistic corps turned out to be very interesting and rich. And this is not a coincidence. The IPC does not stay indifferent to any bursts and sudden turns in political life of Russia. And this is an object for study by the specialists of the institute. Thanks to regular briefings organized by the IPC, the ability to attract to them necessary journalistic audience, the wide circles of the country's public for three years regularly get impressive and reliable information about the conditions and dynamic of general social state of the Russians, about their political public mood. In January 1998 the IPC and the RIISNP began a new joint project connected with the tracing of the future parliamentary and presidential elections. I am sure that will be an important contribution of the IPC to the informational support of the election campaigns.
